I'M SUSAN MINTEER
Many years of country living have inspired my contemporary watercolor paintings. Representational landscapes, and splashy floral designs come from the experiences of my every day life. While I do enjoy pleine aire painting (onlocation), I also like working in my studio from photographs taken when my husband and I travel. Some of my most meaningful art has come from the Bible, as I painted for an annual religious art show, painting to such themes as a Parable of Jesus, an "I AM" Saying of God, The Mission of the Church, and others.
I've thought of myself as an artist all my life, using different mediums and creative expression through the years. After graduating from Baker University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology, I resumed an informal art education with local and nationally recognized instructors such as Eric Weigardt, Barbara Nechis, Stephen Quiller, Ken Hosmer, Tom Francisconi, Jim Hamil, and others.
While I no longer participate in many art shows or gallery shows , my collectors have some of my artwork hanging in corporate and private collections in the Kansas City area, the United States, Canada, and England.
